Getting to Retreat Center: Hof De Planis
If you will be arriving to Switzerland by air, you should fly into Zurich Airport. We recommend planning your trip so that you arrive in the morning of June 27th no later than 13:00 (1:00pm). (Please scroll all the way down for departure information)
Train from Airport:
After arriving at Zurich airport you will go to Schiers by train directly from the airport. The train station or “Bahnhof” is conveniently located inside the Zurich airport. Take the elevators/escalators down to the bottom level to get to the train station (look for signs or ask).
We recommend buying your train tickets online so that you don’t have to worry about buying tickets at the airport. Visit: www.sbb.ch for tickets and timetables. You can select your language of choice at the top of the website and enter from: Zurich airport (flughafen) To: Schiers Bahnhof with the departure time that works for you. Once you pay for your tickets, print all of the confirmation and details and bring them with you in a safe place. You will need to have them during your train ride!
You must switch trains 2 times. Once at Zurich HB and again in Landquart. Select “show all details” to get detailed information on platform and times. Be aware to always check the screens for platforms as they can change!
Train from Elsewhere:
If you are traveling by train from somewhere else in Switzerland or surrounding countries, make sure to arrive to Schiers by 17:00 (5:00pm) at the latest on June 27th.
Bus to Retreat Center (necessary for all who come by train):
Once you arrive to Schiers, you will need to take a 20 minute bus ride up the mountain to Stels, Hof de Planis. You must let us know (via e-amail) the time of your arrival to Schiers. We need to reserve the seats for the bus shuttle. You will find the bus just to the right of the main station and Kiosk in a big parking lot (your right if looking at the main small street). It is a small yellow bus with “Postalbus” written on it. The fare is 4.40 CHF (Make sure to have Swiss francs in change)
Although the bus runs as a public service, we are required to notify the drivers how many people will ride in each bus. Here are the times for the scheduled buses. If your train arrives earlier than a scheduled time, there is a good little restaurant right in front of the train station to grab a drink or coffee while you wait
